1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am

This Trans Am runs and drives great, it had a respray of the original Solar Gold paint 7 years ago, and the interior is in near perfect condition. It's a 400-cu.in. V-8/four-speed car, with cold-blowing air conditioning, the 400-cu.in. V-8 beneath the iconic shaker hood scoop is the car's original engine and has never been rebuilt. It starts easily, with a couple of pumps of the gas pedal, and idles well. There is no smoke at start-up and no leaks from the engine or from the four-speed manual transmission, which shifts great with a recently replaced clutch and flywheel. The Solar Gold exterior of this Trans Am is in good condition with no rust, no swirl marks, and only a couple of imperfections on the lower portion of the passenger's door and front bumper. The glass is also in perfect condition, with seals that were replaced around the time of the paint job. The graphics were also replaced at the time and all of the exterior lighting is operating normally. A somewhat rare black vinyl interior complements the Solar Gold exterior which has virtually no visible wear in the seat covers and also has new carpet. The headliner is in excellent, sag-free condition, and the door panels and dash pad, and unique engine-turned dashboard insert, are all in great shape. The heater and air-conditioning system are functional, as are all of the gauges and interior lights. The only non-original component is a vintage-appearing replacement radio with MP3 capability. The chassis, suspension, and brake elements are in good working order, with no known needs or issues. The car drives straight, with no major play in the steering. It has newer shocks and the car rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires mounted on factory snowflake wheels which are in good condition with no big blemishes or pitting.
